Vice President, Corporate External & Legislative Affairs , AT&T

Troy McNichols serves as Vice President for Corporate External & Legislative Affairs at AT&T, overseeing a team responsible for advancing the company’s legislative, regulatory, and policy priorities across Florida and the Southeastern States Region. McNichols manages regional strategy and operations leading a team responsible for representing AT&T with State Lawmakers and Local Governments throughout Florida.

 

McNichols began his tenure at AT&T as Regional Director of External & Legislative Affairs for Central Florida, where he led State and Local Government engagement and successfully advocated for key telecommunications initiatives. His deep understanding of regional dynamics and ability to navigate complex political environments quickly elevated him to broader leadership responsibilities. Prior to his career at AT&T, McNichols held Senior Level roles at the highest levels of Government.

 

He served in executive management and advisory capacities within the White House and the U.S. Department of Energy. His positions included Assistant and Director of Advance Operations and Chief of Protocol for the Office of Vice President of the United States, and Special Assistant to the Secretary of Energy. He also played a strategic role in State politics, serving as a Senior Advisor to former Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum’s Gubernatorial Campaign.

 

McNichols is a seasoned executive with deep expertise in Government Relations, Public Affairs, and Strategic Operations. He brings a powerful combination of Federal, State and Local Government Relations experience. A proud graduate of the University of Central Florida, McNichols holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Communications. His leadership continues to drive impactful outcomes for AT&T and the Communities it serves across the region.
