With nearly two decades of nonprofit leadership experience, Chris Demetriou serves as Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF). In this role, he builds meaningful partnerships that expand opportunity for youth and teens across Central Florida. Prior to joining BGCCF, Chris spent 17 years with the YMCA of Central Florida, where he most recently served as Vice President of Operations, leading initiatives that strengthened community impact and engagement.
A lifelong advocate for teamwork and mentorship, Chris grew up playing soccer, basketball, and baseball, ultimately competing in Division III college basketball. He credits the mentors in his life with shaping his character, work ethic, and commitment to service — an influence that continues to guide his leadership today. Chris holds a Master of Science in Sports Management from PennWest California (formerly California University of Pennsylvania), as well as Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and English from Washington & Jefferson College.
Chris’s dedication to community impact has been recognized through numerous honors, including the Ford’s Garage Community Advocate Award (2024), the Orlando Magic Community Game Changer Award (2023), Horizon West Who’s Who (2020), the YMCA of Greater Brandywine E.A.G.L.E. Award (2015), and the AYP/YPN James Naismith Award (2013). He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Dr. Phillips, the West Orange Chamber of Commerce, and serves on the advisory board for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
Chris is deeply inspired by the impact BGCCF is making across Central Florida and remains driven by the belief that even more is possible. Through strong partnerships and a shared commitment to community, he sees limitless potential to reach more young people and help them achieve GREAT futures.
At home, Chris is a devoted husband and father. He has been married to his wife, Laura, since 2015, and together they are raising their two children, Alistair and Clarke, alongside their two dogs, Harry and June. Originally from Long Island, New York, with deep ties to Philadelphia, Chris is a proud New York sports fan — but these days, he especially enjoys cheering on Orlando teams with his kids.
Chris and his family call West Orange home, where they enjoy traveling, weekend adventures to Walt Disney World and the beach, and spending quality time with extended family.
