Currently Senior Vice President of Marketing for Marriott Vacations Worldwide. John Fitzgerald is responsible for global marketing strategy and execution.
Previously, Fitzgerald was Area Project Director for Marriott's Newport Coast Villas in Orange County, CA and Marriott's Timber Lodge in Lake Tahoe. Fitzgerald was responsible for all aspects of sales & marketing distribution with full P&L responsibility. During his 7 years in California, Fitzgerald and his team increased sales 225% to over $73m annually and dramatically improved margins. Newport Coast was named "Resort of the Year" for 3 consecutive years 2013, 2014, and 2015 achieving the best performance in sales, margin, associate engagement and customer satisfaction.
Prior to that Fitzgerald was the VP of Marketing for The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club for over 5 years. He was responsible for leading the complete rebranding efforts from The Ritz-Carlton Club to The Ritz-Carlton Destination Club in 2009. At its peak, RCDC sold over $800m of luxury fractional and private residential products annually.
Fitzgerald has over 25 years’ experience in hospitality with best in class sales, marketing, and branding experience. As a direct and database marketer, he has sold hundreds of thousands of vacation packages through millions of direct mail pieces. As a sales leader, he has directly led teams selling over $1B in real estate. Fitzgerald has a proven ability to create, nurture, and leverage strategic alliances with companies such as AmEx, Hertz, Major Airlines, Sotheby’s, Mercedes-Benz, and more.
His diverse background in sales, marketing, branding, and finance makes him a well-rounded leader with tangible experience in getting things done and achieving robust goals.
