Raised in the greater Orlando community, B.J. Taylor is considered not only one of the greatest UCF Athletes of All-time, but one of the most accomplished athletes in Orlando Sports history. A graduate of downtown Orlando’s Boone High School where he was the Florida 8A POY, Orange County POY, Florida vs USA All Star Game MVP and Parade All-American while breaking numerous scoring records during his senior year at Boone.
BJ chose to continue his career at UCF where he was the leader of UCF’s most successful men’s basketball team resulting in the school’s first victory in the NCAA Tournament. A 3x All-American Conference performer, 4x Team Captain and leading scorer, BJ was the driving force in the shift of UCF Men’s Basketball’s success. BJ graduated UCF with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2019 before going onto have short stints in the NBA with the ORL Magic & LA Clippers organizations before seeing his basketball career derailed due to injuries. Through his engaging personality and effective public speaking skills, BJ was offered an opportunity to transition into sports media.
BJ currently appears on ESPN Networks and CBS Sports during college basketball season as one of the youngest national analysts in the country.
BJ also serves as the Lead Ambassador for Loyal Source, a government contracting workforce solutions firm where he has been responsible for the hiring of over a dozen former student-athletes to their first full time positions after college within the firm. BJ continues to be highly involved with UCF serving as a valued resource for the University in a variety of ways through public endorsements, mentorship, and consistent hiring resource for their graduating students and student athletes.
BJ’s passion for the greater Orlando community is evident through his actions and accomplishments as he is excited for future opportunities to continue being a young leader having a positive impact on the Greater Orlando community.
