Michael McManus has more than 35 years of commercial real estate development experience and extensive knowledge of retail, mixed-use and arena based developments. Michael has been a Principal with JMA Ventures since 2012, and is the firm's local lead for the new Sports & Entertainment District project being developed in downtown Orlando adjacent to The Amway Center. Michael recently managed the development of arena-based Downtown Commons in Sacramento CA, home to the Sacramento Kings. Prior to that, Michael served as EVP of Development for Caruso Affiliated successfully managing several highly complex, and successful projects in the Los Angeles CA area including The Grove and The Americana at Brand. Michael’s areas of expertise cover all elements of commercial real estate development including entitlements, master planning, design, leasing, construction, proforma management, and strategic transactions.
Having graduated from Penn State University in 1984 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Michael began his professional career in Pittsburgh PA in the Construction General Contracting field making his way to Simon Property Group in 1986 eventually managing design and construction for much of SPG's midwest and east coast portfolio, before transplanting to Los Angeles to run Development and Construction for Caruso Affiliated from 1999 to 2012. Since that time, Michael has been a Principal with JMA Ventures, LLC focusing on arena based entertainment development projects.
Michael lives in Orlando with his wife Maryann and son Will.
