
Pedro Turushina is the President & CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Metro Orlando. In this role, he oversees the strategic direction and overall state of the Chamber. Pedro leads the development of proactive programs to increase membership engagement and spearheads strategic community and governmental efforts to cultivate and build partnerships with key stakeholders. He drives innovation, fosters collaboration, and positions the Hispanic Chamber as a catalyst for transforming lives through business ownership and strengthening the Hispanic community in Central Florida and surrounding areas.
As a dedicated community leader, Pedro organizes and manages multiple groups, promoting a collaborative business mindset to create connectivity between consumers and local enterprises, thereby driving economic growth. Before his tenure at the Hispanic Chamber, Pedro was the founder and Creative Director of a reputable and prominent marketing agency based in Central Florida.
His dedication to the Hispanic Chamber extends beyond leadership—he is instrumental in cultivating strategic partnerships, implementing innovative outreach strategies, and developing targeted communication efforts that enhance the Chamber’s impact. Pedro’s work is driven by authenticity and a deep commitment to the economic development of the region.
As a former entrepreneur, Pedro focused on finding opportunities to participate in programs that deliver access to tangible business opportunities, connect with procurement decision-makers, and offer practical support to the Central Florida entrepreneurial community. His previous efforts in strengthening the business community include collaborating with key Hispanic organizations serving as a critical marketing resource and strategizing from the conceptual stage to the creation and execution of their programs.
Pedro’s exceptional leadership and contributions have earned him several prestigious recognitions. In 2023, he was honored as one of the Top Latino Leaders by the Council for Latino Workplace Equity at the 8th National Latino Leadership Conference. In 2024, Winter Park City Lifestyle recognized him in their “Men We Admire” feature. Most recently, he was named as one of the Orlando Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, and Orlando Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful, acknowledging individuals shaping the future of the region. Additionally, he received the Citrus Club Hispanic Heritage Award, where he was recognized as the Future Leadership Trailblazer Man of the Year for his dedication to advancing leadership and driving meaningful change within his community.
Pedro is a native of Colombia and has lived in Orlando since 2001. He attended Valencia College, where he earned his associate’s degree, and subsequently transferred to the University of Central Florida, obtaining his bachelor’s degree in fine arts. Pedro currently serves on the boards of Experience Kissimmee, Leadership Seminole, Heart of Florida United Way and the Orlando Economic Partnership. He previously served on the Central Florida YMCA Branding Committee, and the Orlando City Soccer Foundation. He is also a graduate of Leadership Orlando Class 101.
