Wayne Saxer Jr. is the Agency Sports Engagement Lead at NASA, where he drives the agency’s national sports collaboration strategy and leverages major sporting platforms to expand public awareness of NASA’s missions. A Navy veteran and seasoned communications leader, Saxer has directed NASA's presence at high-profile events including the Super Bowl, Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix, the Olympics, and multiple championship celebrations, generating millions of engagements across social platforms through high-visibility activations that amplify NASA’s message to various audiences.

 

Since joining NASA, Saxer has held key roles across public affairs, community outreach, and resource management, consistently aligning external engagement with agency priorities. He also works exhibits and external events at Kennedy Space Center, strengthening NASA’s nationwide footprint through strategic planning and coordinated, mission-focused outreach.

 

Earlier in his career, Saxer served in the U.S. Navy, deploying three times, where he worked on critical power and propulsion systems aboard the USS Comstock. He holds a Master of Science in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Management from Daytona State College.
